Many live-streaming companies in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, are looking for skilled brokers, offering salaries of more than 50,000 yuan ($7,170) per month.
Everybody can see the live streaming hosts promoting products, but few realize the importance of those working behind the scenes.
A Yang, a broker at a multi-channel network (MCN) institute located on Changhe Road in Binjiang district, explained that a broker acts like a product manager at an internet company.
"Brokers play an important role in finding and cultivating live streamers," A Yang said, "they can help an unknown live streamer become an internet sensation with many fans."
He said that the primary job of a broker is to find as many suitable live streamers as possible.
A Yang used to be a producer at a well-known radio station in Hangzhou before he founded the MCN institute with his partners.
With only three months of working experience in the live streaming industry, he said that a broker works just as hard as the host.
According to statistics on Boss, an online job-hunting platform, a monthly salary ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 yuan is being offered by live streaming companies, reaching 50,000 yuan at the highest.
A broker is responsible for communicating with live streamers, addressing their difficulties, and carrying out promotional duties, according to the descriptions on many job posts.
