The ongoing Black Myth: Wukong Art Exhibition, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, draws both die-hard gamers and fans of Wukong, or the Monkey King, one of the most beloved figures in Chinese literary classics.
It is being held at the Art Museum of China Academy of Art, the alma mater of Yang Qi, art director of Black Myth: Wukong, the blockbuster one-player action role-playing game and cofounder of GameScience, the Hangzhou-based company that developed the video game inspired by Journey to the West.
The exhibition gathers drawings, models and sculptures of the scenes and characters of the game, offering players a glimpse into how this game was created.
