The China Painting Heritage Archive in Hangzhou has opened its doors to the world's largest-ever gathering of Song Dynasty (960-1279) paintings, local media outlets reported.

A result of a 20-year national preservation project, the archive has documented 12,405 ancient paintings from 263 institutions worldwide. Visitors can admire stunning replicas of A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, Traveling Amid Streams and Mountains, and Auspicious Cranes, with breathtaking detail that captures the finest brushstrokes.

The exhibition also showcases 3D-printed replicas of China's greatest Buddhist caves, including Dunhuang's Mogao Caves and the Longmen Grottoes. A thrilling VR experience transports visitors to the Foguang Temple of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), offering a close-up look at its architectural brilliance.
