This June, 10 individuals from around the world will be invited to embark on a journey through five millennia.

During the opening of the Second Liangzhu Forum, Hangzhou International Communication Center (HZICC), in collaboration with the Hangzhou Liangzhu Archaeological Administrative District Management Committee, extended a global invitation to history enthusiasts and cultural exchange advocates

Now, the itinerary is set!

This journey, part of HZICC's "Hangzhou, A Window to China's 5,000-year Civilization" initiative, will offer 10 international participants an all-expenses-paid immersion into the heart of Chinese civilization. From June 9 to 13, selected "Hangzhou Seekers" will explore the city's UNESCO World Heritage treasures, engage with local communities, and serve as ambassadors for cross-cultural dialogue.

Why Hangzhou?

Nestled in eastern China, Hangzhou is a living chronicle of humanity's journey through time. As the birthplace of the 5,000-year-old Liangzhu Civilization--a testament to China's ancient legacy--and home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites (the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, the West Lake Cultural Landscape, and the Grand Canal), the city embodies humanity's shared cultural heritage.

The program is seeking individuals who are:

First-time visitors to Hangzhou

Priority is given to those who have never visited before.

Preferably from historically or UNESCO-recognized cities

Ideal candidates come from cities rich in culture to foster mutual appreciation.

Curious and creative

Applicants should be passionate about storytelling--whether through writing, photography, or videography.

Available from June 9–13, 2025

Participants must be fully available during the event period.

Hangzhou citizens can also nominate someone they believe is a great fit by submitting entries through the Hangzhoufeel WeChat account or by emailing [email protected] by April 30. All nominations will be appreciated.
