Since its release, Ne Zha 2 has broken multiple box-office records, becoming a phenomenon in Chinese animation.

While the movie's merchandise has raked in over 300 million yuan ($41.27 million), fans can also get an up-close look at the film's iconic weapons in real life at Hangzhou's Craft Art Museum (China Knife, Scissors, Sword, Fan and Umbrella Museum).

On Feb 26, the museum unveiled two unique exhibits based on Ne Zha 2's weapons – the "Thunder Whip" and the "Loong Tooth Knife".

The first, inspired by ancient weapons, is a Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) fire whip, designed to double as a bludgeon and gunpowder weapon.

The second is a fusion of two types of weapons, combining the sharp edge of a Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC) bronze knife with a loong-inspired design popular in the Ming and Qing periods (1368-1911).

The museum also features other Ne Zha-themed exhibits, including a wood carving of Ne Zha battling the Loong King and a replica of Ao Bing's "sea salt lollipops", which resemble ancient hammer weapons. Visitors can also find other cultural artifacts linked to the film, such as bronze halberds and ivory fans.

Museum curator Chen Gang emphasized that the museum's goal is to make cultural heritage more accessible by connecting exhibits with popular trends.

Moving forwards, the museum plans to incorporate AI into its exhibitions, bringing an innovative touch to the cultural experience.
