The Jiangnan Three Weavings in Qing Dynasty Culture Exhibition is now open at the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum and will run until Feb 24, 2025.

The exhibition explores the legacy of the Jiangnan weaving bureaus in Nanjing, Suzhou, and Hangzhou, renowned for their exquisite silk artistry during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Divided into four sections—origins, vibrant silks, cultural influence, and modern revival—the exhibition features 139 artifacts, including brocades, imperial robes, and contemporary silk designs. It highlights the bureaus' roles in politics, economy, and culture, showcasing how they connected the imperial court with local regions.

Held in a former silk factory, the exhibition celebrates Hangzhou's rich silk heritage while inspiring a modern appreciation for traditional craftsmanship.
