A delegation of national coordinators from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states visited Hangzhou on Dec 13 to promote local collaboration and cultural exchange.
The delegation first explored the retrospective exhibition of the SCO International Art Biennale. Launched in 2013, the biennale has been held six times in Hangzhou, showing 1,142 artworks that celebrate the "Shanghai Spirit" and "Silk Road Spirit." The event has become a cultural bridge between Hangzhou and SCO member states.
Later, the group visited Qianjiang New City, marveling at the urban achievements along the Qiantang River, a testament to modern Chinese urbanization.
The delegation also toured the SCO Friendship Forest in Xueshi Park, nestled in the West Lake Scenic Area. Planted in 2016 during the third SCO International Art Biennale, the forest is made up of over 40 tree species, symbolizing the enduring friendship among SCO member states. Delegates added soil to the "Friendship Plum Trees" and posed for photos.
