Eyeing a more open, dynamic environment for global talent, the Hangzhou International Talent Exchange and Project Cooperation Conference recently kicked off in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

Under the theme "open cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship", this year's event focuses on attracting young talent from around the world and expanding opportunities for international exchange in talent development.

Jointly organized by the Zhejiang provincial government and other key units, the conference featured more than 30 major activities, including high-level talent forums and a series of innovation and entrepreneurship events. Additionally, 11 industry-specific talent exchange routes have been organized to facilitate visits and networking.

A distinct emphasis on internationalization sets this year's conference apart, with a particular focus on drawing in young professionals from abroad. For example, the "2024 Hangzhou Overseas High-Level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" held semi-finals during the event, including specialized contests in digital medicine and brain-computer interface technology. The competition has garnered 1,949 project entries from over 30 countries and regions, with 710 submissions from international participants.

The event will also feature exclusive job fairs for foreign talent and returnees, alongside a series of recruitment activities at universities nationwide.

In recent years, Hangzhou has continuously upgraded its talent service mechanisms, with a strong emphasis on nurturing young innovators. Since the start of 2024, Hangzhou has provided online services to over 8.33 million people, and by September 24, had welcomed 318,900 new university graduates under the age of 35, reported by local media.
