On Sept 23, the one-year anniversary of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Hangzhou announced that this date will now be designated as Sports Venue Open Day, allowing citizens to access all sports facilities free of charge.

Over the past year since the Games were held, sports have become a key part of the city. To mark the anniversary, over 50 participants, including members of the Hangzhou municipal people's congress and local citizens, rode bicycles from the iconic "Big Lotus" stadium to the scenic Wenta Road, embracing the city's strong fitness culture. They then visited the Hangzhou Asian Games Museum to reflect on the remarkable journey of the Games' bidding, preparation, and execution.

The event also featured the unveiling of the new "Hangzhou Sports" logo and slogan, along with the first brand cycling routes under the "Ride in Hangzhou" initiative. Participants contributed ideas for the development of sports in Hangzhou in the post-Games era.

Looking ahead, Hangzhou plans to leverage its Asian Games venues to host both international and domestic high-level events. The city aims to organize over 460 sports events throughout the year, enhance public access to 60 sports facilities, and develop 300 new fitness facilities. Additionally, it will promote a variety of fitness activities and public training sessions focused on water safety for youth.
