Paired cooperation between Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, and Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture in Central China's Hubei province, has helped both regions develop together.
Enshi high-tech zone and Hangzhou-based Transfer Group recently signed an agreement to build the Wuling Mountain Traditional Chinese Medicine Materials Warehousing and Logistics Distribution Center, marking a new milestone in cooperation between the two regions.
Located in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain in southwestern Hubei, Enshi boasts a rich heritage in traditional Chinese medicine and abundant medicinal resources.
"Since the paired cooperation between the two areas, Hangzhou has actively supported the development of Enshi's distinctive industries as a way to boost local economic growth," stated Dong Lei, deputy secretary-general of the Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture government.
In recent years, through the joint efforts of both governments, an increasing number of Hangzhou enterprises have been venturing into Enshi for investment and business opportunities.
Enshi attracted a total of 20 investment projects from Zhejiang enterprises from January to July, with a planned investment of 8.3 billion yuan ($1.2 billion). These include projects such as the deep processing of selenium-rich agricultural products, Qingxiao machinery equipment manufacturing, and Jieda tea automated equipment manufacturing.
Since May 2022, Enshi has conducted over 100 investment promotion activities in Hangzhou, while Hangzhou enterprises have participated in more than 60 investment promotion and matching activities in Enshi.
