The highly-anticipated game Black Myth: Wukong has taken the gaming world by storm, and so has its limited-edition merchandise. The most popular item, a 40-centimeter tall Destined One figure, was priced at 1,998 yuan ($280), with only 10,000 units available. It sold out in just one minute, with over 700,000 pre-orders.
The collectible was designed by Queen Studios, a Hangzhou-based company specializing in high-end figurines. Co-founder Liu Zhuo shared that their team's passion for turning movie and game characters into tangible collectibles led them to focus on creating detailed statues. Their collaboration with Black Myth: Wukong was a natural fit, born out of a shared dedication to quality and artistry.
The success of the figure highlights the growing potential of Chinese intellectual properties in the global market.
