A total of 20 scientific and technological achievements led by research teams and scientists in Hangzhou have been honored with National Science and Technology Awards for 2023.

The announcement was made on June 24 at a meeting that combined the national sci-tech conference, the national science and technology awards conference and the general assemblies of the members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in Beijing.

Among the award-winning projects, Hangzhou led the completion of four projects and participated in 16 others. The awards included two second prizes in natural science, two second prizes in technological invention, and three first prizes and 13 second prizes in scientific and technological progress. A surge in innovation was evident across these accomplishments.

The awarded achievements from Hangzhou spanned various disciplines, encompassing fields such as medicine, materials science, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, machinery, computer and automatic control, civil engineering, and the environment. The display highlights the scientific strength of Hangzhou, injecting innovative momentum into industry upgrades, social development, and the improvement of public health.

In recent years, Hangzhou has solidified the position of its enterprises in innovation and accelerated the integration of industry, academia and research. It is committed to making more innovative achievements, bolstering its industrial transformation.
