China's poetry-themed TV show The Chinese Poetry Conference was broadcast live at West Lake in Hangzhou on June 24, the fifth annual West Lake Day.

The event was presented as a collaboration between the West Lake Scenic Spot Management Committee, the China Media Group and its Zhejiang station, showcasing a special new media event titled "West Lake Poetry Gathering."

The competition show was hosted by Long Yang, one of China's most renowned hostesses from China Media Group, and featured prominent figures such as Professor Kang Zhen from Beijing Normal University and past champions like Chen Geng, Peng Min, and Chen Xijun.

Notable cultural icons and popular contestants from the show, including He Kunyu, Huang Youzhi, Zhang Geyao, Shen Yuqi, and others, gathered by the shores of West Lake to immerse themselves in the beauty of the lake and engage in discussions.

The event unfolded in four chapters: Enchanting West Lake, Passionate West Lake, Picturesque West Lake, and Impression of West Lake.

West Lake, known as a cultural gem of the East, is steeped in history and culture at every turn, with each scenic spot inspiring numerous classic poetry works.
