The Hangzhou Golf Open, certified by both the European Challenge Tour and the China Tour, will take place from Oct 17 to 20 at the West Lake Golf Club in Hangzhou. The tournament boasts a prize pool of $500,000.

The golf open, which evolved out of the Hangzhou International Golf Championship first held in 2019, has received European Challenge Tour certification for the first time. The event will feature 126 players from around the world, including 70 from the European Challenge Tour, 50 from the China Tour, and six wildcard entrants.

As the penultimate event in this year's European Challenge Tour "Road to Mallorca", the Hangzhou Open offers one of the highest prize pools on the tour. Players will compete for a share of $500,000 and up to 2,750 points, crucial for advancing to the Rolex European Challenge Tour Grand Final and securing one of the 20 spots for next season's DP World Tour.

The West Lake Golf Club, an Asian Games venue, will host the event. Ben Cowen, chief tournament business officer of the European Tour Group, noted that Hangzhou was selected for its top-notch urban infrastructure, excellent facilities, and experience in event organization, which was bolstered by its successful hosting of the Asian Games.
