Hangzhou-based tech company Unitree Robotics has made waves in the robotics market with its new humanoid robot, the Unitree G1, launched on May 13.

Priced from just 99,000 yuan ($13,702), the G1 has garnered significant attention for its affordability and advanced features.

The G1 stands about 127 centimeters in height and boasts impressive stability and flexibility. It can perform a 180-degree body rotation, execute a kip-up move when powered on, and crack walnuts and even chop bottle caps with its hands. The robot's limbs can also rotate and fold freely, adding to its versatility.

Equipped with 23 to 43 joint motors, the G1 features cutting-edge technologies such as LiDAR, depth cameras, and dexterous hands. Powered by the unified large model system, it possesses robust motion capabilities and intelligent learning abilities for precise object manipulation.

Unitree's senior manager, Wang Qixin, highlights that the key components of the G1's joint units, including servo motors, reducers, and controllers, are all self-developed and manufactured by Unitree. This in-house production has greatly reduced development time and costs, making the G1 the world's most cost-effective humanoid robot.

The G1's launch follows the success of Unitree's first full-size walking humanoid robot, the H1, introduced last August. With the G1, Unitree continues to push the boundaries of robotics.
