A total of 50 horses from the Netherlands arrived at Hangzhou International Airport on May 13.

After passing quarantine checks, they were transported to the quarantine facility in Tonglu county. The show jumping horses will complete a month-long quarantine session before participating in the Second International Equestrian Open in mid-June. This marks Tonglu's first equestrian event since the Hangzhou Asian Games last year.

The event will be open for rider registration, including domestic horses, allowing international and domestic participants to compete together. Over 150 rider-horse pairs are expected to participate.

The 50 Dutch horses, mainly show jumpers, have already been purchased by domestic clubs. This follows the arrival of nearly 100 Argentine polo ponies on May 9, marking another international horse trade for Tonglu.

During the quarantine, Qianjiang Customs will enforce strict quarantine regulations, conducting regular clinical checks and disease testing to ensure biosecurity. Once cleared, the horses will be eligible to compete.
