The Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone Smart Manufacturing Park in Xiaoshan district opened on April 8.

During the opening ceremony, six industrial project agreements were signed. Among them, the Oxford intelligent technology valuation project led by Professor Fu Xiaolan, a lifetime professor at the University of Oxford and a fellow of the British Academy, stood out with a total investment of 400 million yuan ($55.3 million).

The project aims to develop a large language model platform integrating artificial intelligence technology. It will provide tailored, precise, objective, and cost-effective technology valuation solutions for various industries through the optimization of big data sample assessment and AI valuation models.

The entire park has planned six specialized zones, covering industries such as new materials, precision manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, and integrated circuits.

The most recognizable area is the 40-hectare integrated circuit industrial park, where efforts will be made to create a complete industrial chain for high-end chips focusing on design, manufacturing, and testing. Furthermore, companies in the demonstration zone can benefit from subsidies in fields such as key materials, core equipment, wafer manufacturing, and EDA tools technology.

The zone has already provided 1 million square meters of office, research and development, and production space for projects. Among them, 450,000 sq m of standard factories and GMP workshops have been constructed. Additionally, a 2-billion-yuan Airport Industrial Development Fund is being established to support local projects.

Data shows that the smart manufacturing output value of the zone reached 48.5 billion yuan in 2023, and the figure is expected to reach 150 billion yuan by 2027.
