Ever wondered what prized possessions are hidden within Hangzhou's museums?

Hangzhou recently unveiled the treasures of its major museums, showcasing artifacts such as the oldest evidence of humans in Zhejiang province, the first camera in Zhejiang, and a gold shovel and silver pot from the third year of Emperor Guangxu's reign of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

A total of 309 items/sets from 230 museums were considered in the selection process launched on Oct 30 last year. Divided into three categories - State-owned museums, non-State-owned museums, and rural/community museums, a total of 66 items/sets made the list. The collections are diverse, distinctive, and significant, often closely related to Hangzhou's history and culture.

In the first Zhejiang provincial museum "Top 100 Treasures" selection last year, 42 items/sets from State-owned museums in Hangzhou were selected. With the addition of the city-level treasures selected this time around, Hangzhou's museums now boast a total of 108 sets.
