Starting March 4, Hangzhou Metro has increased the frequency of trains during peak hours on weekdays on lines 3, 6, 9, and 16, adding a total of 11 trains, aiming to further alleviate peak-hour passenger flow and enhance operational service levels.

As the backbone of urban transportation, Hangzhou Metro has always been committed to providing efficient and convenient travel services for residents.

"To increase the frequency of trains, Hangzhou Metro has adopted various measures, including optimizing train maintenance schedules, implementing asymmetric peak-hour schedules, introducing interval trains, and increasing the number of short-loop trains. All these measures aim to increase capacity and shorten intervals, making travel more convenient and comfortable for passengers during peak hours," said a spokesperson from the subway group.

With the addition of more trains, passenger capacity during weekday morning peak hours on the four metro lines will increase by 7 percent to 20 percent.

In this manner, train arrival and turnover speeds will be further accelerated. The subway group reminds passengers to prepare for boarding and disembarking in advance when riding the metro. Additionally, with the adjusted operation plans on these lines, some train arrival times may have changed. Passengers are advised to plan their trips in advance using the Hangzhou Metro App to check for train arrival reminders.
