Hangzhou's first Xinhua Bookstore, located on Jiefang Road, reopened its doors on Jan 16, just before the arrival of the Lunar New Year.

The reopening drew a crowd of eager readers.

Established in 1954, the Jiefang Road Xinhua Bookstore is the first of its kind in Hangzhou. Following its upgrade, the store now spans four floors with a retail area of 3,800 square meters and a collection of 50,000 books. The books are thoughtfully organized based on readers' preferences, aiming to create a conducive and pleasant reading environment for visitors.
