An intelligent driving school in Hangzhou, utilizing virtual reality and artificial intelligence technologies, is set to transform the driver training landscape in China, local media outlets reported.

The innovative effort, the first of its kind in Zhejiang province, combines augmented reality with dynamic simulation to help learners feel as if they’re actually driving.

Moreover, a robot instructor is placed aboard the training car to further assist learners.

According to a manager at the school, the new technology marks a significant advancement. Students can now practice their driving and address specific weaknesses in a lifelike simulated environment. Moreover, the technology holds major implications for the driving education industry – reducing costs and increasing efficiency and environmental sustainability.
