In a recent video shared by netizens, a surprising sight was captured at a gas station in Hangzhou – a robot refueler. The entire refueling process is automated, and the efficiency even surpasses that of manual refueling.

In the video, the robot starts by affixing a support platform beneath the fuel tank cap. It then uses laser radar for precise positioning of the fueling port and extends its arm to gently open the fuel tank cap. The mechanical arm with a gripper can automatically unscrew the fuel tank cap, placing it on the initially attached support platform on the vehicle. Finally, the robot uses the gripper to take out the fuel nozzle and inserts it into the fuel tank for refueling, making the entire process incredibly smooth and efficient.

The development has sparked discussions among netizens, with comments like "Looks like gas station attendants might be out of a job in the future."

The robot in the video is known as the Yigoli Energy Arm, and it made its debut at the Nanyang gas station in Hangzhou.

Leveraging artificial intelligence technology, the robot can accurately identify the structure of over 90 percent of car fuel tank caps. Upon receiving refueling instructions, it can complete the entire process of opening the cap and inserting/removing the nozzle within 120 seconds.

Moreover, car owners only need to park their vehicles without getting out; all operations, including scanning a QR code, refueling, and payment, can be completed from inside the car, providing a more convenient refueling experience.
