At 7 am on Dec 3, the sound of the starting gun echoed across Xiushui Square, marking the commencement of the 2023 Qiandao Lake Marathon.

As a gold-certified event recognized by the Chinese Athletic Association, the marathon has always been distinguished by its breathtaking scenery. The 42.195-kilometer track winds around picturesque mountains and lakes.

In the men's marathon, the first to cross the finish line was Yang Xiaojun, completing the race in 2:19:51. The women's marathon was won by Zhao Yali, with a time of 03:00:01.

The men's half marathon saw Zhang Ligang as the champion with a time of 01:13:49, while in the women's half marathon, Tang Xiaofang claimed the championship with a time of 01:21:26.

Additionally, the Qiandao Lake Marathon market featured numerous intangible cultural heritage crafts and local snacks. From clay figurine molding to sugar painting and cake making experiences, the activities not only brought motivation and joy to the participants but also enriched the viewing experience for spectators.
