The fifth China (Hangzhou) International Express Delivery Conference was held in Tonglu on Nov 21-22, bringing together representatives from the domestic and international express delivery industry.

The conference included keynote speeches, report releases, project signings, and discussions on topics such as the standardization and high-quality development of express delivery and the digitization facilitating integration of express delivery and e-commerce.

In addition to the main events, the conference also hosted parallel forums. Attendees had the opportunity to visit the Tonglu Express Technology Town and Tonglu Express Collection and Distribution Center, and the conference also saw the release of the Tonglu Consensus.

Tonglu, as the host city, has been actively leveraging its resources and developing its express delivery industry in recent years. In 2020, Tonglu initiated the Express Delivery Return project, relying on the return of express delivery headquarters to drive the overall return of the innovation, manufacturing, and service chains.

To date, Tonglu has gathered 325 express delivery-related enterprises, achieving a total revenue of over 35 billion yuan ($4.9 billion). The construction of the Express Technology Town is progressing well, with the second headquarters of delivery tycoons ST, ZT, YT and Yunda expected to be completed and put into use in 2024. Tonglu has attracted 121 express delivery and related industry projects, with agreed investment exceeding 37 billion yuan.

Tonglu is also applying cutting-edge technologies in the industry, including unmanned vehicles, drones, and intelligent security inspection machines.

Moreover, Tonglu has launched the Action Plan for Tonglu to Build a New Era China's Private Express Delivery Town (2022-25), aiming to create an open and clustered industry.
