Myanmar sepak takraw coach praises Hangzhou Asiad for meticulous arrangements
Myanmar's sepak takraw coach has extolled the meticulous arrangements made during the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Aung Cho Myint, head coach of Myanmar's gold-winning sepak takraw team at the Hangzhou Asian Games, expressed his admiration for the meticulous arrangements made during the Games.
In an interview with Xinhua on Monday, Aung said, "as an event organized by a powerful nation, the detailed arrangements were exceptionally systematic."
Boasting extensive experience as both an athlete and a coach in various Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games, Aung also lauded the quality of food, accommodation, and transportation provided throughout the Hangzhou Games.
The coach beamed with happiness over his team's achievement, securing the gold medal in the quad event, recognized as the pinnacle competition for sepak takraw athletes globally.
He described the moment of victory as truly memorable, bringing immense joy to the entire team.
"This is the highest event for our sepak takraw sport. Countries such as Japan, South Korea, and India also participated in the event. It is a high-standard event," he remarked.
Aung also noted that this year's Asian Games introduced several new features and sports, adding a refreshing vibrancy to the event.
Besides the sports competition, Aung extolled Hangzhou for its captivating beauty and pleasant atmosphere.
Upon their triumphant return to Myanmar from the Hangzhou Asian Games, the delegation of athletes received a warm reception at the Yangon International Airport on Saturday.
Myanmar clinched one gold medal in sepak takraw and two bronze medals in dragon boat at the Hangzhou Asiad.
