Hangzhou has delivered to the world a spectacular event that is distinctly Chinese and uniquely Asian.
Behind the scene is each and every volunteer and professional who helped ensure that "distant friends feel at home".
Over the past 10 days, from the crack of dawn to late at night, volunteers could be seen hard at work in and around the venues.
Statistics show that 37,600 volunteers, primarily from 46 universities in Zhejiang, have served in more than 90 competition venues, training facilities, and specialized work teams, covering more than 10 service areas.
Around the Asian Games venues and the Athletes' Village, at transportation hubs, and in popular tourist areas and other high-traffic areas, Hangzhou has set up 220 volunteer stations, providing information, medical assistance, lost and found services, and mobile phone charging.
Inside the Asian Games venues, teams from the State Grid tirelessly patrol, conducting multiple rounds of inspections on electrical equipment to ensure the power supply for the Games.
In total, 1.49 million people in Hangzhou registered as Asian Games city volunteers, with an initial count of 2.52 million people participating in city volunteer services.
The idea of "everyone participates in the Asian Games, everyone is a volunteer, and everyone contributes to Hangzhou," has become a reality.
