West Lake is always alluring, no matter what the season. This poem by the Song Dynasty poet Ouyang Xiu (1007–72) described the late spring scenery of the famous West Lake in Hangzhou, portraying the relaxed, joyful and tranquil atmosphere. Ouyang Xiu is famous for his series of ten poems titled “West Lake Is Good,” in which he fully demonstrated the beauty of his prose writing.
