As the Hangzhou Asian Games draw near, South Korea's media and public are expressing their excitement.

In recent days, South Korean media have been publishing a series of reports in the runup to the Games.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the country will send its largest-ever delegation, comprising a total of 1,180 individuals, surpassing the numbers from the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, when it was the host country.

Reports suggest that at this year's Games, South Korea is not only hoping to contend for gold medals in their specialties of swimming and archery but is also aiming to make a strong bid for gold in taekwondo, judo, and fencing.

Additionally, South Korea's Go team led by top players such as Shin Jin-seo and Choi Jeong aims to secure gold medals. South Korea is also eager to clinch medals in the esports events, which have become an official competition category for the first time.

The South Korean public is also eagerly awaiting the Games. A Seoul resident surnamed Lee told Xinhua News Agency that the athletes must have been preparing for a long time, and the Games will be a grand celebration for everyone as they come together for the momentous occasion.
