With a commitment to hospitality and state-of-the-art facilities, both the Chengdu FISU World University Games Village and the Hangzhou Asian Games Village are poised to be not just venues but also living embodiments of the shared spirit of unity, friendship, and excellence.

The Chengdu FISU World University Games Village, nestled within the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province, opened its doors on July 22. The Chinese delegation became the first occupants of the sprawling 800,000-square-meter village, which is located on the campus of Chengdu University and capable of accommodating up to 11,000 people.

As the games’ largest non-competition venue, the village was designed to meet the diverse needs of athletes and participants and will offer around-the-clock services until Aug 11, catering to residential, operational, and transportation requirements for the games.

Athletes are treated to sumptuous meals and comfortable accommodations, ensuring they are well-nourished and rested for peak performance. In addition to this, fitness facilities are readily accessible to aid in their training regimes. Athletes can also enjoy leisure and entertainment facilities, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and relaxation during the games.

An emphasis has been placed on cultural exchanges, as the village hosts various activities aimed at promoting mutual understanding and appreciation among young participants from different nations. Special events will highlight traditional Chinese culture, offering a glimpse into the richness of Chengdu's heritage while fostering friendships that transcend borders.

The village also embraces cutting-edge technology, boasting self-driving buses and a state-of-the-art intelligent translation system.

The Hangzhou Asian Games Village had its grand media opening a month earlier, on June 16. With an impressive total area of 1.13 sq km and a sprawling floor area of 2.41 million sq m, it is the largest non-competition venue for the sporting event.

Designed with utmost precision, the village comprises three distinct sections catering to athletes, technical officials, and media reporters. With an anticipated population of over 10,000 athletes and team officials, nearly 4,000 technical officials, and approximately 5,000 media reporters, the village is set to become a bustling hub of sportsmanship and international friendship during the Asian Games. For the Asian Para Games, it will be home to around 3,800 athletes and 1,500 team officials.

As the countdown to these occasions continues, anticipation is continuing to reach new heights, heralding the beginning of a remarkable celebration of sports, culture, and the unifying power of sport.
