In preparation for the 19th Asian Games, the testing of an "Asian Games dedicated lane" has commenced and will last until July 9, local media outlets reported.
During the Games, the city will prioritize event-related vehicles to ensure seamless traffic operations during the sporting extravaganza.
The dedicated lanes utilize digital traffic control technology and are dynamically used based on the operating time and travel speed of the test vehicles. Motor vehicles using the Asian Games dedicated lane must adhere to related regulations.
During a visit to Konggang Elevated Road, reporters noticed that this section had four lanes and overall traffic flow was relatively smooth, with the southernmost lane designated as the Asian Games dedicated lane.
Around 11 am, a screen in the outermost lane displayed the words "Allow borrowing by regular vehicles during this period," and occasionally cars were seen using the lane. After about 15 minutes, the screen displayed the words "Dedicated for Asian Games during this period," and all unauthorized vehicles promptly left the lane.
