The Palestine Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Olympic Council of Asia and Palestine Athletics Federation, held the Asian Games Fun Run at the Majid Assad Sports Complex on May 12.

The event attracted 800 participants in different age groups and served to promote the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou from Sept 23 to Oct 8.

The local cycling federation also joined the fun run, with their swift wheels adding some extra excitement to the event.

The POC Secretary General Abed Al Majeed Hijjeh welcomed all participants to the event, which was held within a friendly and festive atmosphere, and congratulated the organizers and partners for a successful event which displayed Olympic values.

The previous day, the POC conducted the Asian Games Children's Art Competition in association with the School Sports Federation. The event was held at Independence Park and gave the students the opportunity to depict the Asian Games, including its various sports and athletes.

As anticipation for the Hangzhou Asian Games grows, more fun run events will take place, inspiring individuals to embrace the Olympic values of friendship, respect, and excellence.
