Xixi Wetland, China's first and only national wetland park that integrates urban, agricultural and cultural features, recently released a new promotional video to mark the 27th World Wetlands Day on Feb 2.

In the four-minute video, Xixi Wetland was shown throughout the seasons, with a focus on different plants, animals and insects, fully demonstrating its biodiversity.

"During the year-long shoot in Xixi Wetland, we've made friends with the flowers, birds, insects and fish there. Yet, behind the landscapes, the guardians are sparing no effort to restore the original scenery of the wetland," said the creators of the video.

Xixi Wetland Park has become a majestic getaway for people looking to escape the urban hustle and bustle and experience the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

"As the first national wetland park in China, Xixi Wetland is far more than an urban wetland park, playing pivotal role in China's wetland protection and sustainable utilization and will also provide practical experience for countries around the world," said Lei Guangchun, a professor of wetland ecology.

Chinese celebrations for the 27th World Wetlands Day will be held at Xixi Wetland Park on Feb 2.
