Living in a wheelchair for over 18 years, Shao Xuan from Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, has forgotten how to run for a long time although running again remains his dream. Luckily, a special effects team helped make that happen on Saturday.
When Shao was seven years old, a car accident crippled his legs, leaving him unable to walk. Since then, standing on the ground again, and running has taken root in his heart. One day, Shao saw a special effects team's production video, and an idea suddenly occurred to him. He then summoned the courage to leave a message with the team, saying that he wanted to know if he had not suffered misfortune, what would he be like now. The special effects team saw his message and offered to help.
To help Shao recall the feeling and movements of running, the team then invited a special instructor to teach Shao.
Finally, after nine months and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent, Shao realized his dream of standing, running and playing basketball with his companions on the screen.
Shao said he was excited after seeing the video. "Hopefully, one day, people with disabilities won't have to worry about going out and playing with friends," Shao said.
