Farm and pasture products from Delingha city in Northwest China's Qinghai province were promoted in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 30, local media outlets reported.
In addition to showcasing yak milk, yoghurt and meat, the promotion highlighted a yak feast consisting of many distinctive dishes, including boiled yak tongue with sauce, braised yak intestines, and stewed yak meat with Aweto.
Delingha city is the capital of the Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Qinghai province and home to 19 ethnic minorities. Since 2010, Hangzhou has paired with the city to help with construction, infrastructure, education, health care, and environmental protection.
As a key area for agriculture and husbandry, Delingha has received support from Hangzhou in developing natural resources such as its 462,507-square-meter natural grassland and 4,533 sq m of forage land and developing a green and environmentally-friendly yak raising industry integrating yak breeding, forage growing, food processing, sales, and technological development.
Delingha opened an online food sales platform for Hangzhou residents the same day, and also launched an application for a Guinness World Record for its authentic yak feast.
