The integrated service mini-program developed by the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 recently made its overseas debut at the Singapore FinTech Festival, one of the most renowned fintech gatherings in the world, local media outlets reported.
Accessed through Alipay, a popular Chinese mobile payment app, the program currently has millions of users from across the world, who can access get real-time information about the Games and its host and co-host cities, as well as book tickets and arrange their accommodations in Hangzhou.
The most popular game in the program is "Running to 2022 to be the Asian Games Torchbearer", which allows users to go on virtual tours of cultural and sports landmarks related to the Asian Games.
"The mini-program works like a one-stop portal where I can book hotels, restaurants, flights, and tickets, and even watch games. It's quite smart and innovative," said Elaine from Singapore.
"I was planning my trip to China three years ago but couldn't make it due to the pandemic. The mini-program has motivated me and I will go on planning a new trip to Hangzhou for the Asian Games next year," Elaine added.
"I think it's great that cross-border mobile payment can make travel more comfortable and convenient for international tourists. I'm looking forward to visiting China using my mobile phone during the Asian Games next year," said a French exhibitor.
