The "Exciting Hangzhou" National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship 2022 opened at the Huanglong Sports Center in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on Aug 20 and will run until Aug 27.

The championship is the first national event held at Huanglong Sports Center after its renovation for the Asian Games Hangzhou.

The championship is attended by 147 athletes from 14 professional teams, including China's national team.

Cai Tongtong, coach of Team Zhejiang and a silver medalist at the Beijing Olympics, said the venue is well designed and gives athletes enough space to warm up.

According to the championship's organizers, the venue has made 1,800 seats available to the public and over 80 percent of the tickets for the final have been sold.
