A 220-KV transformer substation in Xihu district, Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, started operations on July 5, providing electricity for the Alibaba Cloud Computing Industrial Park, the largest cloud computing headquarters in Asia.
The park was built by Alibaba Cloud Computing Co Ltd in December 2017 and covers an area of 450,000 square meters, an equivalent of the size of 62.9 standard soccer fields.
Alibaba Cloud Computing Co Ltd, which specializes in providing big data and cloud computing services, was founded in 2009. It has served for more than 3 million users from over 200 countries and regions in the world.
The Hangzhou branch of the State Grid said they've arranged 165 engineers to take shifts and guarantee stable power supply for residents and industries.
