Xiaoshan postdoctoral centers leverage $932m in added-value

Scientific research and innovation in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou has been strengthened by the growing number of postdoctoral centers there since 1999, local media outlets reported.
The postdoctoral center of Zhejiang Lab, the first of its kind in Xiaoshan district since 1999, has recruited seven postdoctoral students over the past few decades. They have taken over seven scientific research projects, won two technological achievement awards, authorized 37 patents, published 10 papers, and achieved 1.88 billion yuan ($281.28 million) in the added value of scientific results.
The postdoctoral center of Transfar Group, a private-sector diversified company, has also taken part in nine key science and technology projects at the provincial and national levels, obtained 23 national invention patents, and completed 25 scientific research projects for the enterprise, bringing in more than 134 million yuan in direct economic benefits for the enterprise.
