Harris Tong, general manager of the Hangzhou Office at Cushman & Wakefield and chairman of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Zhejiang, has been living in the eastern Chinese city since 2003.
"I've witnessed with my own eyes the development of Hangzhou," Tong said.
He recalled that Hangzhou lagged considerably behind Hong Kong during his initial arrival, but over time, he found that the city was charming in its own way. He also saw that in the larger context of China's development, Hangzhou was a city of opportunities and he hoped to make his mark there.
"So I decided to stay in Hangzhou and pursue my career here," Tong said.
