Liu Peng, chairman and head expert of the company, said that the device has to be highly sensitive as the concentration of COVID-19 in the air is much lower than that in a person’s mouth or nose.
Li said that it took his company and Peking University eight months to develop the system. The devices are currently being used at hospitals in Beijing and Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jinlin province.
The devices were also put to use during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
