China's women's volleyball team gearing up for Hangzhou Asian Games
China's women's volleyball team have started their training in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, as they start to prepare for the Hangzhou Asian Games in September and the world championship in the same month.
Seventy-one players are in the talent pool, but for this session, 67 players – including 2016 Olympic champions Yuan Xinyue, Ding Xia and Gong Xiangyu – took part. The squad will get their Asian Games title defense underway on September 13 with the final 11 days later. It's a busy time for Cai Bin's team, who will almost immediately travel to the world championship in the Netherlands and Poland, which run from September 23 to October 15.
