An unforgettable trip paid by Joo Han-na, a South Korean, during her post-graduation period to Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has inspired her to quit her job at Hebei University and start living in her dream city.
Having been in China for six years, Joo now works as a Korean language teacher at the Tourism College of Zhejiang and said that she was grateful to work and live in the city.
Joo said she sees herself a civilian diplomat when giving classes, as she would not only focus on academic studies but also share the history, culture and geography of South Korea with her students.
"I want my students to have a better understanding of my country so as to raise their interest in language learning," Joo said.
Joo likes to record her life in her spare time and she has set foot in many popular and niche sites throughout Hangzhou.
She has also played an active role in attending cultural activities in the city, such as making calamus products and snacks shaped like cherry blossoms.
"This is my way of enhancing my knowledge of Chinese culture," Joo said.
She said she enjoys her convenient life in Hangzhou, including booking tickets online to tourist destinations and scanning to pay for almost everything without using cash.
