Three airports in Hangzhou, Ningbo and Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province were connected to a security check fast pass mini-program embedded within Alipay on Dec 21, enabling passengers to enjoy fast clearance services at the airports.

Known as the "Easy Security Check", the mini-program is expected to halve the average time needed for security checks. It mainly targets passengers who are frequent civil flyers, are familiar with relevant rules and regulations on civil aviation security, and can voluntarily abide by them.

Passengers can book the service up to 48 hours before their flight, or they can book the service at the airport after buying a ticket and enjoy it immediately.

Passengers can scan the QR code of the Civil Aviation Public Security Service onsite or search for it on Alipay. They will get an automatically-generated "Easy Security Pass Code" once they finish real-name authentication, type in the departure date and airport, and submit their personal information.

They can undergo the security check at designated channels, which are located at Security Channel 1 in Terminal 1 of the Hangzhou International Airport, Security Channel E12 in Terminal 2 of the Ningbo Lishe international Airport, and Security Channel 4 in Terminal 2 of the Wenzhou Airport.

Lin Xin, director of the security check department of the Hangzhou International Airport, said the service was currently not open to all, as people applying for the service must first answer some security-related questions correctly.

The national civil aviation public security department said that a total of 40 airports across the country, all of which have an annual passenger throughput of over 1 million, are expected to begin offering the service before Jan 1, 2022.
