The exports of Hangzhou Great Star Industrial Co are expected to hit $1.4 billion this year due to the slew of innovations created by the company, said Li Feng, senior vice-president of the company.

A two-way screwdriver invented by the company drew much attention at the 130th China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, which was hosted in South China's Guangzhou in October.

The invention enables users to fasten a screw quicker and with less effort than regular screwdrivers.

The company's innovations have boosted the company's exports by more than $100 million compared to a year ago, according to Li.

Li added that acquisitions have also contributed to the company's rapid rise. This year, Hangzhou Great Star Industrial Co acquired well-known US hardware brand SK and Shop Vac, the largest cleaner brand in the US.
