The average annual salary of Hangzhou middle and higher-level skilled workers who were born during and after the 1990s reached 205,600 yuan ($31,909), ranking fourth among Chinese cities, according to a report released by China's online recruitment platform Liepin on Sept 28.

The report showed that the 'post-90s' generation has become a strong backbone in the job market.

According to the report, Shanghai was the top destination for the generation to look for jobs from January to August, followed by Beijing, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.

Beijing tops other cities in terms of the average annual salary of middle and higher-level skilled workers who are born during and after the 1990s, with the figure amounting to 256,600 yuan.

The report showed that the earnings of Hangzhou middle and higher-level skilled workers who are born during and after the 1990s tended to grow on an annual basis.

Notably, the report revealed that about 5 percent of the Chinese 'post-90s' generation owned more than 1 million yuan in assets.
