Cool off by traveling down ancient paths in Hangzhou
The 14th solar term of the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, End of Heat, ends on Sept 6 this year. It implies that most areas in China are exiting the hot summer season and entering autumn. However, in some areas, especially in South China, autumn will arrive later, so there can still be hot weather to contend with.
Here are the eight ancient paths surrounding by thick vegetation in Hangzhou where one can cool off for the day.
Shili Langdang path
Location: West Lake scenic area
Features: West Lake Longjing tea leaves, bamboo forest, misty fog, and streams
Located to the east of Tianzhu Mountain, Shili Langdang gets its name because of its length as Shili means five kilometers in Chinese. However, the ancient Shili Langdang path actually spans eight km, with many side paths leading to the mountain.
