Hangzhou-Haining railway opens to traffic

The Hangzhou-Haining intercity railway was opened to traffic on June 28, local media reported.
Spanning 48.1 kilometers, the railway starts at the Yuhang Railway Station in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province, and ends at Biyun Railway Station in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang.
The entire journey takes 39 minutes and costs 9 yuan ($1.39), with 2 yuan being the starting fare.
The first train departs the Yuhang Railway Station and Biyun Railway Station at 6:30 am and the last train departs the two stations at 10:30 pm. Six pairs of trains operate on the railway each day.
In order to attract more passengers, the railway is offering discounted 1-yuan tickets for the entire journey until Aug 5 this year.
