Founded in 2001, Hangzhou East Software Park is an important part of Hangzhou's information industry and is surrounded by many universities, research institutes, and high-tech companies.

The park has been home to renowned companies like Alibaba, Digital China, ZTE, Huawei, Lenovo, Amdocs, CSK, and Webex. A group of small and medium-sized sci-tech companies including Teamax, Miaxis, Xingruan and NationalChip have also been incubated in the park.
