With the main stadium of the 19th Asian Games, which is known as "Big Lotus" being awarded China's leading construction award the Luban Prize, its neighbor, the tennis center of the Games, also known as "Little Lotus" is also winning attention from across the globe for its dynamic beauty.

Advanced technology enables the roof of the center, which is made of eight petal-shape mobile steel frames, to be viewed as relatively independent, but they can also open and close synchronously as a whole, bringing out the beauty of its dynamic design.

If weather permits, it will take about 20 minutes for the eight petals to fully bloom into a "lotus flower."

The center covers an area of 50,000 square meters and can seat 15,600 spectators at the same time. It includes a 10,000-seat venue for the tennis final, two 2,000-seat venues for tennis semifinals, six venues for preliminary heats, 10 training courts, as well as four indoor courts.

The exterior of the "Little Lotus" is also designed with floodlighting effects, much like its neighbor, which can collective create different eye-catching lighting effects on the south bank of the Qiantang River.
