Shiyan Mountain is located southeast of Xianghu Lake in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou.

It is the highest mountain around Xianghu Lake, with its main peak extending 213 meters above sea level.

There is a temple called Xianzhao located at the top of Shiyan Mountain that was first built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and its name comes from the phrase "the light of the rising sun shines on this temple first."

The temple is commonly shrouded in fog, especially after rain in autumn and winter.

Xianghu Lake has been dubbed the sister of West Lake and is known for its picturesque scenery and long history.
